Cupping in Citrus County, and what the marks are

Almost everybody asks me the same two questions about cupping, so here they are, answered before you have to ask.

What it feels like
Everything else I do presses down into tissue. A cup lifts it, so it is a very different feeling. Some people love it right away and some decide once was enough. I use glass cups and silicone ones in a few sizes, with a hand pump.
Most of the time it's a few minutes on a stubborn area inside an hour of hands-on work. Added to a session you're already having, cupping is $20, and it doesn't take any time off the hands-on part. On its own it's a half hour for $45.
The marks, and how long they last
They are not bruises in the injury sense, and they are usually not sore to the touch. They fade over several days, sometimes up to a week. If you have a wedding or a vacation or anything sleeveless coming up, say so, and we will either skip the cups or put them somewhere your clothes cover.
I'll show you what's come up before you get off the table, so there's no surprise in the mirror that night.
When I won't use them
I will not use cups if you are on blood thinners or have a clotting history, or if your skin is fragile or broken, or if you are on medication that thins the skin. Tell me when you book and we work without them. It costs the session nothing.
Questions
Does cupping hurt?
It's more strange than painful. A strong pull, right where the cup is. If one is too much I move it or take it off, so tell me.
How long do the marks last?
Usually a few days, sometimes up to a week. They fade the way a bruise does, and they are usually not tender.
Can I have cupping without the massage?
Yes, there's a half hour on the booking page for exactly that. If you have never had it though, I'd add it to a massage first. You find out whether you like it inside a session you were having anyway.
