Service Policies

Who I can see

You must be 18 or older to receive massage therapy services from me. This is my own business policy, not something Florida law requires — Chapter 480 sets no client-age floor for massage — and I currently apply it to every appointment, online and in person.

Confirming identity

As a matter of my own practice, I confirm each client's identification before providing service. If the client is a minor, I also record the identification of the parent or guardian who gives written consent, alongside that consent (see above).

Prenatal massage

Prenatal massage is not currently offered. If you are pregnant, please consult your prenatal care provider, and I am glad to refer you to a therapist who is specifically trained and certification-qualified to provide prenatal massage.

Service animals

Service animals are welcome in the treatment room. If it is not obvious what service an animal provides, I may ask only two questions: (1) is the animal a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the animal been trained to perform. I do not ask about the nature of a person's disability, require documentation or proof, require the animal to demonstrate the task, or charge a deposit or fee for a service animal's presence.

I may ask that a service animal be removed only if it is out of control and its handler does not take effective action, it is not housebroken, it poses a direct threat to health or safety, or its presence would fundamentally alter the service — and even then, the client is still offered the service without the animal present. Under Florida law, miniature horses trained as service animals are treated the same way.

Consent and capacity

By booking or attending an appointment, each client attests that they are 18 or older and legally competent to consent to massage therapy services for themselves.

I reserve the right, in my professional judgment, to decline to begin or to discontinue a service at any time — including whenever I am not satisfied that valid consent is present — consistent with the professional-judgment decline right described in my Terms of Service.

Older clients

There is no special age-based clearance requirement for older clients. At intake, I ask about current medications, health conditions, and mobility, and where balance or fall risk is a factor, I take that into account in how the session is positioned and conducted.

Licensing and insurance

I am licensed under MA78217, and I carry professional liability insurance coverage at the individual-license level. I do not hold a massage establishment license. I see clients as a lessee inside premises that are licensed to their owner, and that establishment license is not mine to claim.

A note on 'licensed and insured'

"Licensed and insured" on this site means me, and only me: I am licensed under MA78217 and I carry professional liability coverage as an individual practitioner. It does not mean the premises. I do not hold a massage establishment license and this site never claims one, so if any wording here reads as though the establishment itself is licensed or insured by me, that reading is wrong.
